Planning your next backpacking adventure? Want to be more sustainable on the road?  You’ve come to the right place.

Hello, I’m Francesca, a freelance travel and lifestyle journalist and founder of Little Lost Travel. Last year I embarked on my first big solo travel trip to New Zealand and I haven’t looked back since.

From university graduate to travel addict

I learnt about the benefits of travel soon after graduating from university. Before my trip, I was at a crossroads; not sure where I was going or what I was doing with my life. The uncertainty of it all stretched out ahead of me like an empty void. It was suffocating, so I decided to escape, see the world and leave those existential questions for when I got back.

Embarking on a tour of New Zealand, Fiji and Hong Kong, I spent four glorious months swimming with reef sharks, climbing snow-capped mountains and immersing myself deep in nature. I fell in love with travel and the way it opened my eyes to the rich possibilities the world had to offer.

Why sustainable and responsible travel matters

Little Lost Travel was first launched in February 2018 as a beginner’s guide to solo sustainable travel, but I wasn’t satisfied. The onset of climate change has meant that we, as a global community, have to think seriously about our impact on the planet. Part of that scrutiny means looking at the way we travel and how those habits contribute to climate change.

If done responsibly, I believe that travel is a force for good on the planet. It can have a profoundly positive impact on both the traveller and the destination they visit. Responsible travel benefits cultures, indigenous communities and wildlife on a global scale.

Newly relaunched and rebranded, Little Lost Travel is a platform that aims to make a difference by spreading the positive impact of ecotourism and responsible travel.

What is Little Lost Travel?

Little Lost Travel is your comprehensive guide to everything you need to know about responsible travel. Here, you will discover the best ecolodges in the world, where you can eat sustainably, how to pick an ethical activity abroad and much more.

I believe that travel provides you with the ultimate escape. It’s about exploring the richness of culture, the wonder of nature and the beauty of wildlife. Most of all, it’s about preserving this precious planet we call home for generations to come.
